NO DOUBT ABOUT IT:  CHRIST AROSE!

Don’t be fertile ground for seeds of doubt.

One of Satan’s most powerful tools is doubt. He uses it to create confusion and fear in our lives. He tried to use doubt to tempt Jesus in the wilderness.  He hoped that the human body God had taken on was so weakened by hunger and thirst, that perhaps a small seed of doubt which would quickly grow and destroy God’s plan of salvation for us humans.  Christ repelled Satan with the truth of the Holy Scriptures

Doubt is like the twin of a lie, which makes it even more important to know the truth. When I worked for the Federal Reserve Bank, counterfeit enforcement agents learned to detect counterfeit bills, not by learning every fraud method, but by studying and learning legitimate currency so well, that a bad one would stick out like a sore thumb. This is the Christian approach to biblical frauds that pop up so often.

Satan’s seeds of doubt are intended to stop us from trusting in the Lord. Doubt tries to make us waiver in our faith by instilling worry and despair, whispering suggestively that God no longer loves us, so we may as well seek our own way.

Satan uses all manner of deception to plant seeds of doubt in the lives of God’s people. He doesn’t need to plant doubt in unbelieving agnostics and atheists . Many, by their rejection of God’s love, already belong to Satan, and are useful to him in spreading the seeds.

A recently released film promotes the lie that Christ did not die or rise from the dead, but married and had a child before dying like any other man. It claims to have found the family‘s burial site, which is vehemently disputed by Christian scholars and Jewish historians, alike.

The entertainment media have alarming influence over people’s lives and have taken the lead in attempting to disparage the truth of the Bible, thereby destroying established, irrefutable historical data simply by raising doubt. Films such as ‘The last temptation of Christ”, and “The DaVinci Code” and this latest documentary depicting Jesus as a sinful mortal are simply blasphemous attempts to destroy the truth that Christ as Savior and Lord.

The Bible says (and secular historians have validated) that Jesus was crucified, died, was buried, and was resurrected. Over the years, some have raised the prospect that Jesus was not crucified, but traveled across Asia, and died in Kashmir, India. The first people to doubt Jesus’ resurrection were the Jewish leaders themselves, who claimed the disciples stole the body and hid it. 

They searched extensively for proof, but found none.  The testimony of the Romans soldiers, who were struck with fear and frozen in place as the heavy stone was mysteriously rolled away, played a large part in establishing the truth of the resurrection.

Had either the Romans or the Jewish leaders been able to find a sliver of doubt as to the resurrection, they would have exploited it to the hilt. Jesus’ disciples endured torture and death while steadfastly insisting upon the truth of the resurrection.  Someone certainly would have admitted it was a hoax, if that were so.

Also, the writings of contemporary Roman historians from that era have long been considered concise and complete; however, not one of them questioned the veracity of the story of Jesus’ crucifixion, death, burial and resurrection. No one in history has been so thoroughly investigated, doubted and demeaned, but no one else has revealed himself to be so powerful in the lives of so many.

Jesus, Himself said it best: “..I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies…”   The Triune God even creates the faith to believe in Him.  He also tells us that those who try to lead His sheep away from Him will one day face the punishment for their sins.

Many religions threaten death to anyone who blasphemes their gods. Why aren’t Christians rising up and protesting this latest fraud?  God doesn’t need our defense.  He is Almighty. Learn God’s truth, as written in the Bible, and the frauds will have no effect on you, because those seeds of doubt will find not fertile ground in your heart.
